Poochie (Satchmo) Bourgeois

Audron Bourgeois, Sr. ( “Poochie”) - Trumpet, Vocals, Brass Instruments

A member of Na Na Sha since the beginning (all but three years due to work obligations).  Poochie began his music career at age 10. Inspired by his father who played the trumpet, he began playing the cornet and has since learned to play most of the brass instruments and has learned to sing vocal harmonies along with doing some solo work. During his music career,  Poochie has played with various groups including The Saints, The Ascensions, The Blue Notes, The New Blues, Last Chance, The Alley Cats, Bits & Pieces, Choices, Machine and Greg Brignac's "All Stars" to name a few. When asked what were the highlights in his music career his response was “Too many to mention, although one of the biggest thrills was having the opportunity to play in the same group as my oldest son (for a while) who is now a former member of Na Na Sha along with cousins and close friends that I've been playing music with for the last 45+ years." Poochie is also a member of the St. Mark's Na Na Sha Ensemble.
